The foremost principle of Safe at Home Care is to honor and respect our clients. Founded by owner Ann Girard in 1999, this company represents a tribute to dignity and a celebration of the freedom that can be found through compassionate care. We have been privileged to serve the Boulder County area since we opened, and throughout our 21 years of service we have maintained a high retention rate among a majority of our caregivers — some of whom have been with us since the very beginning.
Ann Girard, Owner and Founder
Safe at Home Care’s owner and founder, Ann Girard, has been a licensed physical therapist for over 40 years. Seeing a need for assistance within the aging community, Ann began Safe at Home Care in 1999 to help individuals maintain certain levels of independent living.
Even with the considerable growth her business has experienced over the years, Ann continues to be on call personally for all of her clients, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. She is medically trained, and has a heart as big as the State of Colorado. Ann is infinitely more than merely a business owner — she is the heart and soul of Safe at Home Care.
Trusted, Experienced Caregivers
One of the ways we honor our clients is through deliberate, careful hiring choices. Safe at Home caregivers are unique because they come to us through referrals only. When a caregiver is referred to us from a trusted resource, we run a thorough background check, contact references, and assure that every caregiver has a current driver’s license, auto insurance, and TB test on file.
Individualized, Thoughtful Care
In our 21 years of service, we’ve learned how transformative it can be to pair clients with an ideal caregiver for their situation. We take great pride in our abilities to match the right gareviver with each client. This is something we are able to do both skillfully and quickly, sometimes doing so in a matter of hours, if the circumstances call for it.
The size of our organization allows for care that is both comprehensive and personal. We do not believe in having a “parade” of different caregivers for our clients. Rather, we keep small, consistent teams for clients in order to create and maintain a consistent and pleasant environment in your home.
